Glossary

Emulsion

This refers to using an emulsifier (such as a surfactant) to improve affinity with water for two substances that tend to separate (such as water and oil), so that they remain dispersed. Emulsified liquids are called “emulsions.” Although fluoropolymers generally do not dissolve in water, we offer LUMIFLON® waterborne grades that do not include solvents formed through emulsion.
