- Fluon® PFA
Fluon® PFA is a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene (C2F4) and perfluoroalkoxyethylene. PFA retains inherent characteristics and similar properties to PTFE but can be processed using thermoplastic techniques, such as injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding.
Fluon® PFA Functions and Features
Versatile Processability
PFA enables more flexible processing using thermoplastic techniques, such as injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding.
Electrical properties
PFA is an outstanding electrical insulating material having extremely low dielectric constant and dielectric tangent. Using PFA for electrical components ensures their reliability.
Chemical resistance
PFA has high chemical stability and is virtually not affected by most chemicals. PFA is ideal for molding materials of semiconductors that are constantly exposed to highly active chemicals.
Fluon® PFA Usage
Fluon® PFA is a highly functional fluoroinated resin having excellent processability and moldability, making it ideal for use in various manufacturing fields, such as the chemical processing, electrical/electronic, and precision equipment industries.
Fluon® PFA Usage
The following is an introduction of the uses of Fluon® PFA.
Tubing and bottles
Fluon® PFA possesses outstanding chemical resistance and heat-resistance, and is used in parts such as for equipment related to semiconductors and chemical processing.
Electrical wires
Fluon® PFA has outstanding electrical properties, heat-resistance, and mechanical strength, and can be formed into thin wire. It is therefore often adopted for use in wires for tablets and other devices.
Injection molded parts
Fluon® PFA possesses characteristics equivalent to PTFE. However it is compatible with injection molding since it is a thermoplastic resin, so it is able to be molded into parts more easily than PTFE.
