Dipropylene glycol <General Name > DPG

Product summary

Dipropylene glycol is a colorless, odorless, slightly viscous liquid.

Its general properties are similar to propylene glycol, but it has greater solubility and viscosity than propylene glycol, so it is used when other glycols are not available.

AGC's DPG grades include two types: one for general industrial use and the other, 'DPG-FC,' which is for cosmetic use.

Features

Dipropylene glycol, represented by the chemical formula C6H14O3, is a diol that excels in solubility, antimicrobial activity, and moisturizing capabilities.
From the electrolysis of the starting material, raw salt, to the refining of DPG, we carry out integrated production within AGC's Kashima plant, ensuring a stable supply of high-quality DPG.

AGC's DPG-FC has achieved the production of nearly odorless DPG through AGC's proprietary deodorization technology (patent pending).
DPG-FC has low skin irritancy (as determined by external agencies) and is a highly stable product that resists chemical changes such as discoloration and odor alteration over time.

Chemical formula: C6H14O3
CSCL Number: 2-413
Industrial Safety and Health Act Number: 2-413
CAS No. 25265-71-8

Main uses

DPG-FC (for cosmetic use) is suitable as a cosmetic raw material, a solvent for fragrances, and a toiletry solvent.
DPG (for industrial use) is suitable as an intermediate material for polyester resins, for adjusting the flexibility of resins, as antifreeze, and for use in printing inks.
