Energy savings by low electric resitance

AGC has continued its efforts to reduce electric resistance of ion exchange membranes over the last 40 years by applying innovative designs. FLEMION™ is a fluorinated cation exchange membrane that offers extremely low resitance and is the preferred product by many customers.

High current efficiency

The use of carboxylic polymer helps ion exchange membranes in salt electrolysis achieve high electrical current efficiency. This fluorinated carboxylic polymer was invented by AGC. This polymer industrialized the chlor-alkali membrane process. Now Flemion™ demonstrates high electrical current efficiency continuously.

Stable performance by high impurity resistance

AGC minimizes the influence of impurities on membranes by investigating the mechanisms of impurities effects. As a result of this process, membranes can achieve stable long-term performance.

FORBLUE™ FLEMION™ Usage

Flemion™ is used in electrolyzers at electrolysis plants in which brine is decomposed. It plays a key part in manufacturing caustic soda (sodium hydroxide)/caustic potash (potassium hydroxide), chlorine, and hydrogen-basic chemical products required in our daily lives. It is used by customers throughout the world.
